Availability: 1 hour per session; three sessions total
Description:
A behind-the-scenes look at the book to screen adaptation process for TV, beginning with the latest, Whoopie’s World Season 4 (which aired in early Jan 2021). Learn what it takes to get from concept to script to acting and filming. Students will be taught the elements of a screenplay (script); they will then get to rewrite new, creative dialogue adapted from real shooting scripts. Following the short writing exercise, students will be encouraged to have their dialogue read on ‘stage’. In support of the TV series’ theme of joining a Circus for resilience training, this session will have Adeline share how the partnership with Singapore’s first Circus led to a 13-part drama on Channel 5. Then, in a follow-up two-part workshop, pick up some fun, resilience and team bonding skills from the trainers of Circus in Motion.
