Storytelling is an essential skill for the 21st Century; a skill that is useful in every aspect of our lives. If you are interested in storytelling, but don’t know where to start, this one-day workshop facilitated by Sheila Wee is for you. It will enable you to gain a firm grounding in storytelling skills, and you will leave with one ready-to-tell story and the tools and confidence to learn and tell more.

In a warm and supportive group environment, you will learn why storytelling is such a powerful form of communication, how stories can be structured to hook listeners' attention, and discover your own personal storytelling style. Through group, partner, and individual exercises, you will be guided through a step-by-step method of learning to tell a story without memorising the words. You will also discover how to add details to make a story uniquely yours, and learn effective story rehearsal and performance techniques.

About the Speaker

Sheila Wee is a Singaporean storyteller who has been living and breathing the oral tradition since 1998. A driving force behind the revival of oral storytelling in Singapore, Sheila has spent decades helping others unlock the power of story— to connect, to teach, to influence.

Through her work with Storywise, Sheila delivers dynamic storytelling programmes across a wide range of audiences. Her work spans playful storytelling in preschools, cultural storytelling in museums and heritage spaces, and impactful workshops on storytelling for influence— designed for corporate teams, government agencies, and educational institutions.

Sheila is also a founding director of the Federation of Asian Storytellers (FEAST), where she mentors emerging tellers and helps build a strong storytelling community across the region.

She’s brought her storytelling magic to audiences in twelve countries across Asia, Europe, and the Pacific — including Australia, India, South Korea, and the UK — and now she’s bringing it to you.
