Sing Lit Station
A Platform Where Writers And Readers Meet

A platform where readers and writers meet.

Sing Lit Station is a non-profit organisation, registered charity and Institution of Public Character (IPC). Our vision is to be a platform where readers and writers can meet.

Our core mission is to serve the local literary community of writers and readers, through:

  1. creating a space for writers to grow their artistic and professional lives;

  2. inviting readers to explore our literary culture;

  3. working with many partners to build inclusive and dynamic communities.

Sing Lit Station organises a wide variety of unique projects and programmes, specially tailored to fulfil our object as a charity for the Singaporean public and literary scene. Our flagship programmes include the workshop-for-schools programme Book A Writer, the regional Hawker Prize, our award-winning editorial imprint Ten Year Series, and our community challenge / writing forum SingPoWriMo.

As a physical space, Sing Lit Station serves be a writer’s centre – an abode for literary creation. We host a number of events and activities, including a half-year writing residency, masterclasses from visiting writers, as well as a number of workshop groups, such as Writing The City and other peer-driven communities consisting of practicing and aspiring writers, migrant workers, queer folk and more. We also rent out desks and office space to artists, writers, creative producers and collectives at discounted rates for customisable durations of time; individuals or groups interested in using Sing Lit Station may contact us to learn about our rates.

As an organisation, we are supported by a core team of dedicated employees, experienced contractors, interns and volunteers. Sing Lit Station receives financial support from the National Arts Council, the Arts Fund and the Buy SingLit campaign for all the work that we do; we also receive donations from a community of generous patrons of the arts.
