MEET-THE-AUTHOR: Kishore Mahbubani

  • Ngee Ann City 391 Orchard Road Singapore, 238872 Singapore (map)

On Saturday, 15 April at 4pm, Prof. Kishore Mahbubani, Dean of the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore, will be coming to Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store to share with you more on his new book, The ASEAN Miracle: A Catalyst for Peace. This book is a powerful and passionate account of how ASEAN has become one of the most successful regional organizations in the world.

ASEAN has delivered miracles. In an era of growing cultural pessimism, many individuals believe that different civilisations cannot live together in peace, but the ten countries of ASEAN provide a thriving counter-example of civilizational co-existence. In an era of growing economic pessimism, where many young people believe that their lives will get worse in coming decades, Southeast Asia bubbles with optimism. In an era where thinkers predict rising geopolitical competition and tension, ASEAN regularly brings together all the world’s great powers.

If you have an interest in ASEAN affairs, be sure to pick up a copy of this insightful read, and join Kinokuniya for this event with Prof. Kishore Mahbubani for an exciting exchange of perspectives.
