COURSE SYNOPSIS
This focused, one-day professional development workshop is designed for language teachers who want to strengthen their approach to teaching narrative writing in the classroom.
Across the session, you will explore key building blocks of effective composition teaching: generating ideas, shaping plot and developing vivid description. Through modelling, discussion and hands-on activities, you will see how storytelling techniques can be adapted into practical strategies for students of varying abilities.
You will be guided through clear, structured approaches to support students, from pre-writing and idea generation to crafting coherent narratives. The workshop places strong emphasis on connecting writing craft with classroom practice, so that professional techniques feel accessible and usable in everyday lessons.
There will be practical guidance throughout, with opportunities to adapt strategies to your own context. By the end of the session, you will have developed a ready-to-use narrative writing lesson plan and a clearer, more confident approach to teaching composition.
