What does it mean to write with—not just about—the environment?
In this generative workshop, participants will read and respond to a selection of eco-poetry by writers like Mary Oliver and Ross Gay, looking closely at what makes these works come alive—and how those elements might (or might not) carry over into our own creative landscapes.
This session invites a broader, more experimental understanding of eco-poetry—grounded in where we are, and how we see (or don’t see) the world around us. No birdwatching badge or plant knowledge needed; just a willingness to look again and write.
Open to writers of all levels, including and especially those who struggle to name plants or spot birds on the regular.
