Writing The City (Apr '22): Daryl Qilin Yam

  • Toa Payoh Public Library 6 Toa Payoh Central Singapore, 319191 Singapore (map)

In this workshop, Writing The City participants will be exploring the ways people fall in and out of friendships via a series of discussions, in-class readings and ideating exercises. The aim will be to see how the mercurial nature of friendships might be utilised to our advantage as storytellers, and as essential building blocks in our ideation of characters and storylines within our practices of fiction.

Daryl Qilin Yam (b. 1991) is a writer, editor and arts organiser from Singapore. He is the author of the novella Shantih Shantih Shantih (2021, Math Paper Press), and the novel Lovelier, Lonelier (2021, Epigram Books), a finalist of the 2021 Epigram Books Fiction Prize.
