Drawing from the well of his six poetry collections, this solo spoken word performance will gather poems written by Marc Nair that all carry the sound of water—whether in place, object or memory. This reading is inspired by one of his favourite spoken word artists, Anis Mojgani, and his collection Songs from Under the River. The performance will begin and end with a reading of the first and last half of You Are The Sea from this collection.

Marc Nair is a poet and photographer. He is a recipient of the Singapore Young Artist Award (2016). He has performed spoken word in both solo and group performances for fifteen years in over ten countries and has represented Singapore in international poetry slam competitions. Marc has published six volumes of poetry and has released another four books in collaboration with visual artists, photographers and graphic artists. His latest collection of poetry is Sightlines, a collaboration with Tsen-Waye Tay. Marc is the co-founder of Mackerel, a culture magazine.
