SPOKE & BIRD #17: Marc Nair

After an unforgettable December with S@ber, Spoke & Bird kicks off 2019 in magnificent style with Young Artist Award recipient, slam champion, musician, photographer and author Marc Nair.

Marc Nair is a poet and photographer who has published nine books, three of which are in collaboration with visual artists, illustrators and graphic artists. His latest collection is Vital Possessions, a treatise on our uneasy relationship with nature.

Marc has two collections of travel poetry, Chai and Spomenik, and frequently backpacks in search of chocolate and whisky. His writing and images can be found on Mackerel, an online culture magazine that he co-founded.

Marc has performed spoken word in solo and group shows for fifteen years in more than ten countries and has represented Singapore in international poetry slam competitions. He is a recipient of the 2016 Young Artist Award.

Their open mic will run as usual with a dozen 5-minute slots available. Each open mic-er will be given 5 minutes to perform any number of poems. For more details, click on the event link provided below.
