Poetry Festival Singapore (PFS) 2018 celebrates youth and diversity with the theme "In spirit," a revelation of the mysterious breaking out of the material. This word fest sees poetry as a medium for embodying spirituality and for giving voice to what is human and true amid the perplexities of contemporary life. PFS will look back to the annals of published verse and spoken word in the island's official languages. It will also look ahead by showcasing rising poetic stars. It will shine the spotlight on women's poetry by emerging writers and verse enthusiasts. Familiar festival fare such as workshops on children's poetry and spoken word will be on hand. So will experimental fusions of poetry and multimedia shows as well as a poetic drama enjoying its world premiere. And in keeping with the theme, there will be panel discussions on and readings of spiritual writings from various faith and literary traditions.
