Winner Jason Soo will receive his award from noted filmmaker Tan Pin Pin. Worth S$5000, the award provides for a 2-week stay in Thailand to pursue a writing project of the fellow’s choice.

Jason plans to interview members of the Malayan/Singaporean Old Left who are currently residing in Thailand. At the award event, Jason will give a talk on student activism in the 1950’s and 60’s.

The evening, organised by Singapore Unbound, will begin with a musical performance by Daphne Tan and will be emceed by Max Pasakorn. Book table by Ethos Books. The event is free and open to all.
