[TALK] SHINE OR GO CRAZY: K-DRAMA NARRATIVES
Featuring Helen Oyeyemi
Moderated by Clara Chow
Time: 6 Mar, 7.15pm – 8.15pm

Think that a Korean drama is only about terminal illnesses and evil stepmothers? Writer Helen Oyeyemi brings us through storytelling methods seen in Korean television of recent years, and analyses their unconventional narratives as well as common tropes. In this session for both fans and naysayers, she draws parallels between a novel and k-dramas, probing deeper into the elements of drama that have contributed to the resurgence of Korean dramas.
