PANEL: Art, Science And The Supernatural – A Conversation With Ng Yi-Sheng and Suffian Hakim

  • City Book Room 420 North Bridge Road Singapore 188727 Singapore (map)

Join Ng Yi-Sheng and Suffian Hakim in this discussion on Art, Science And The Supernatural. They will each share their experiences in writing their latest fiction collections and novel too.

Ng Yi-Sheng is a poet, fictionist, playwright, journalist and activist. He is the winner of the Singapore Literature Prize, which he received for his debut poetry collection, last boy (2006). He recently completed his MA from the University of East Anglia’s creative writing programme. Lion City is his first fiction collection.

Suffian Hakim is a writer of fantastical, whimsical, wacky books. His first was a parody, Harris bin Potter and the Stoned Philosopher, whose initial chapter was published online in 2013 before going viral. The Straits Times calls Suffian “undoubtedly one of the most whimsical, creative and unpretentious young voices in Singapore literature”. He will be promoting his latest novel, The Minorities.
