WORKSHOP: Instructions for a Journey by Miriam Bird Greenberg

Miriam Bird Greenberg leads a short, collaborative workshop investigating the archetypal journey, whose echoes are deeply embedded in culture, from fairytales to the intimate stories of economic migrants in Hong Kong and American hobos alike.

Writer-participants will read selections from journey texts both mythic and mundane, including The Descent of Aletteby by Alice Notley, The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien and My Life in the Bush of Ghosts by Amos Tutuola, then collaborate to produce a guidebook to the afterlife.

The Singapore Creative Writing Residency is co-organised by The Arts House and the National University of Singapore University Scholars Programme. For more information on how to register, click on the event link provided below.
