Of turbans and lions.
Join us for a screening of Singh In The Lion City, a short documentary about a Singaporean Sikh’s journey of self-discovery along a shared heritage trail – which he encapsulates and celebrates via an app.
The screening will be followed by a discussion on diaspora and home by a panel of diverse storytellers from film, technology, theatre and writing. We’re happy to have aboard, homegrown novelist Balli Kaur Jaswal who will also grace the evening with a live reading. Event is hosted by Daphne Lim.
Our storytellers: Upneet Kaur-Nagpal, filmmaker; Ishvinder Singh, the founder/developer of the Sikh Heritage Trail app; Vithya Subramaniam, the co-founder of the Sikh Heritage Trail app and writer of the play, Sikhs of Serangoon; Balli Kaur Jaswal, author of Inheritance, Sugarbread and recently released, Erotic Stories for Punjabi Widows.
