PERFORMANCE: "Loud Poems For a Very Obliging Audience," Ng Yi-Sheng

  • Booktique 1 Raffles Link Singapore, 039393 Singapore (map)

Come on down to CityLink Mall for a Thursday night melt-your-face-off spoken word recital by activist-poet Ng Yi-Sheng!

He'll be performing works from his recently published spoken word collection, Loud Poems For a Very Obliging Audience. If requested, he may do some pieces which he ultimately felt were too dangerous to print.

Yi-Sheng remains the youngest poet to win the Singapore Literature Prize, which he received for his debut collection last boy. He was the first winner of the annual Singapore Poetry Slam in 2003, and was a founding member of the spoken word group the Party Action People. He is also the author of the movie novelisation Eating Air and the co-editor of GASPP: a Gay Anthology of Singapore Poetry and Prose and Eastern Heathens. He tweets and Instagrams at @yishkabob.
