LAUNCH: "The LKY Story" by Yoshio Nabeta & Yoshihide Fujiwara

  • Kinokuniya 391 Orchard Road Singapore, 238872 Singapore (map)

The LKY Story – Lee Kuan Yew: The Man Who Shaped A Nation that is published in a manga format, is a tribute to Singapore’s late founding father and Minister Mentor Mr. Lee Kuan Yew. This manga is a collaborative effort between Japanese publishing company Shogakukan Asia and Japan’s manga authors to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Singapore-Japan relations.

The LKY Story – Lee Kuan Yew: The Man Who Shaped A Nation gives readers a glimpse into the life of Lee Kuan Yew before he made history. From his early years and education in Raffles College, to his experiences in World War II and his work as a lawyer, the events that shaped Lee Kuan Yew’s ideals would lead him towards championing the rights of the people and the fight for an independent Singapore.

Here’s your chance to learn more about The LKY Story from its two Japanese creators – writer Yoshio Nabeta and illustrator Yoshihide Fujiwara – when they make a special appearance at Kinokuniya Singapore Main Store on Tuesday, 25th October, 7.00 p.m. to launch the historical manga. If you are intrigued to find out more about this unique interpretation of Mr. Lee Kuan Yew’s legacy, which is a fusion of Japanese popular culture with Singapore’s rich heritage, make it a point to attend this launch event.
