Peranakan food isn't just a cuisine. It's memory. Its identity. It's the smell of rempah on a Sunday morning and a grandmother who never wrote anything down.
On 26 July, we're bringing that conversation to the table—and launching Terry Tan's Peranakan Classics to mark the moment.
Authors Terry Tan, Gerard Chai, and Tan Sri Datuk Dr Rebecca Fatima Sta Maria come together to talk Peranakan cuisine, memory, and identity—moderated by Peter Yeoh of Hungryonion.org.
This panel is one of three happening across the day as part of the Baba Nyonya Literary Festival—a celebration of Peranakan culture through literature, with discussions spanning identity, the Peranakan home, material culture, and memoir.
