In their second open mic of the year, Layl Ash-Shayr is thrilled to welcome Aisyah Lyana and Nuraliah Norasid.
Aisyah is an award-winning Singaporean writer and poet who co-founded a youth literary collective, Meja Conteng, in 2024 and a youth poetry interest group, Kelana Pantun Temasek (KPT) in 2017. Aisyah has represented Singapore in various international conferences in Singapore, Brunei and Indonesia at the Southeast Asian Literary Council (MASTERA) for poetry and short stories. Aisyah currently works as an Early Response Analyst at TikTok.
Nuraliah Norasid is a writer and an educator of interdisciplinary communication and inquiry. Her writing has been published in a variety of publications including, Karyawan Magazine, Mynah Magazine, and Granta. Her debut novel, The Gatekeeper, won the Epigram Books Fiction Prize in 2016 and the Best Fiction Title for the Singapore Book Awards in 2018. Nuraliah enjoys walking and video-gaming.
