Pemangkin is a showcase of poetry taken from Hidayat Nordin’s debut poetry book Optimis. Accompanied by a musician, the fusion of music and poetry will bring audiences into a fantasy world of dramatic moments, with traditional Malay-inspired music blended into the current-ness of the woven words.

Hidayat Nordin is a multi-disciplinary artist who has been involved in arts and media as a producer, writer and director. He has won multiple accolades and awards for his literary works and has also been invited to judge several national level poetry competitions. In 2018, Hidayat Nordin finished First Place in the National Poetry Competition. In 2021, he debuted his poetry collection Optimis with support from the National Arts Council.
